A New Twist On Baked Spaghetti

19 Sep

Sometimes when I’m cooking, I just know I’ve created something that is going to be a family favorite – I can almost picture my future children begging for it! In our house, this dish is exactly that… we call it ‘That Casserole’, but really it’s just another take on something almost everyone loves……… baked spaghetti.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 box of pasta (we typically use whole grain, but any kind or shape will do)
  • Veggies (olives, peppers, onions, etc)
  • 1 bottle of Italian Vinaigrette Dressing
  • Either 3 chicken breasts or 1/2 lb of ground turkey (or beef, if you like!)
  • Cheese (Mozzarella’s our favorite)
  • Salt, pepper, garlic, italian seasoning

What You’ll Do:

  • Boil pasta and cook as you typically would until all the way done
  • In a large frying pan, cook meat until done. Add seasonings to taste.
  • Dice veggies and add them to the meat. Add 1 cup of Italian Dressing.
  • Add the pasta directly to the frying pan, and mix contents for about 2 minutes.
  • Transfer everything from the pan into a baking dish (I usually cram it into a bread pan, to make more of a loaf) and top with cheese and italian seasoning.
  • Place in the oven at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy!

I love this dish, because it is such a quick meal and everyone who tries it ends up loving it and begging for the recipe! I will warn you, this makes a TON of pasta… but it’s great left over for lunch. If you aren’t a fan of leftovers, you might want to cut this recipe in half. Happy baking!
